Light, Space & Landscape

On entering the building the visitor would immediately experience the building unfolding into the landscape with distant views towards Huxham and the close proximity of the landscaped planting integrated into the structure.

Morning Light

The principle of the design concept is demonstrated in the living area; morning light from the east facing clerestory, landscape/garden clearly in view with external sculpted forms and glazing shapes integrated into the interior.

Linear Dwelling

The dwelling follows a linear form and the central entrance delivers easy and intriguing access to the various sections of the building. Turn left and you enter an open plan dining and kitchen space with a sunken living area, all with views to the near and distant landscape.

Turn right and you enter a pathway towards the bedrooms, that widens out into a glazed planted setting with stupendous countryside views contributing to the experience of living in a sculpture set within the landscape.

Outside In

Deliberate incisions of landscape views and planting deep into the building create a sense of openness and space.
